Back to the 2019 Congress of the Federation

Your Federation

The annual bus drivers' meeting was held under the theme "Trends + alternatives = Dare! ", at the Fairmont Manoir Richelieu. Golf, conferences, Annual General Meeting and the traditional "tailgate" was on the menu for this 6th Congress of the Federation.

Golf tournament

On the eve of the official opening of the conference, the participants had the opportunity to walk the greens of one of the most beautiful golf courses in Quebec, the Manoir Richelieu. The foursomes have tried to get their hands on the prestigious Federation Cup. The honors went to Pierre Gagnon, Pascal Charbonneau and Michel Leboeuf of Transdev.

The day was punctuated by several beautiful golf shots, especially that of Mrs. Kim Paquette, Autobus Robert Paquette and Sons, who managed a hole in one hole at the hole number 4 of the course Saint-Laurent.

Conferences

The conferences dealt with many issues that affect the carriers. The issues of sustainable development, climate change and good environmental practices were discussed at the opening of the conference by none other than Mr. Steven Guilbeault. Ms. Brigitte Labbé, from Focus Human Resources, came to present the 10 best actions for effective recruitment of candidates. The technological component was tackled by Geneviève Perron and David Noreau, experts in digital strategy of the Libéo firm, who identified the various opportunities in the field while demystifying the word "digital".

Another subject of interest, particularly for chartered carriers, is the regulation of passenger transportation in Ontario. Ms. Jennifer Fox, Director of Regulatory Affairs at OMCA, has debunked various myths about particular aspects of the Ontario Bus Act.

Given the popularity of the discussion panels, the Federation has reoffended with a topical issue is the electrification of transport. Invited panellists shared their experience in the operation and management of the electric bus fleet and presented the support offered by the Government of Quebec and Hydro-Québec.
