Founded in 1970 by Roy Backholm, Leeds was first called North Eastern Blue Bird. Renamed Leeds Transit Sales Ltd in 1978, over the next 20 years the dealership grew to become one of North America’s largest school bus dealers. Affiliated with International Truck and Engine Co. (Navistar Corp.) since 1972 and in 2003 Leeds is proud to have been chosen as the very first International IC dealer in Canada!
Leeds head office is in Elgin, Ontario, a Parts & Service facility serving the GTA and south-west Ontario is located in Woodstock, Ontario and our Quebec operations facility is located in Saint Roch de le Achigan, Quebec, just northeast of Montreal.
IC, in recognition of our commitment to our customers and our desire to bring the best possible levels of product and service to the marketplace, named Leeds the North East region Dealer of the Year in 2004-05 and in 2006 and 2009 Leeds was awarded IC's highest honour - North American Dealer of the Year!
